August 2004 Darryl Smith, co director/curator of the luggage store/509 - his brother is in from Japan and will be giving several workshops at the Palace of the Legion of Honor. Smith will be exhibiting and working on his graceful lamp forms, focusing on preparation and the weaving of the lampshades. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak wiwth Smith about his process of wood carving, preparations and design of his structures and his choice of materials.
