DSS
work in both acoustic and electronic mediums. Their sonic palate is
composed of mixer feedback, DIY and custom hacked circuitry, FM
transmitters, and (amplified) viola. Performances involve a mix of free
improv, graphic score interpretation, and audience interaction. At the
crux of their performance practice is the use of FM transmitters which
serve to tie each of our instruments together and diffuse the notion of
control amongst the group.
Pink Canoes = loud. improvised. and
then quiet. and still improvised. everyone plays instruments. sometimes
they don't play their instruments and then play them later on. other
times their instruments are knob-oriented and feed back a lot. |
