8PM - Lisa Mezzacappa (bass) - Noah Phillips (guitar) Duo
9PM - Pitta of the Mind (Amar Chaudhary and Maw Shein Win)
Pitta of the Mind, the duo of Amar Chaudhary and Maw Shein Win, bring their interplanetary blend of music, poetry, costumes, and obsession with cats to the reverberant confines of the Luggage Store Gallery. We don’t know exactly what to expect, but we do know there will be a lot of blue. Amar will provide an equally blue noise-synth intro.
Amar Chaudhary is a San Francisco-based composer and performer, whose music ranges from highly esoteric electronic experimentations to jazz and rock. In addition to his solo work, he performs regularly with the bands Reconnaissance Fly and Surplus 1980. http://www.amarchaudhary.com
Maw Shein Win is a writer, a co-publisher of Stretcher, and a freelancer at the San Francisco Writers’ Grotto. She often collaborates with musicians and artists, and her latest project, “Ruins of A Glittering Palace,” a collaborative book with painter Mark Dutcher, will be published this year.
